Kyle Schwarber's four home runs are absolutely insane! American baseball analysts say: to claim the MVP, Shohei Ohtani would have to "explode" himself.

Philadelphia's "Bomber" Kyle Schwarber's four homers in a single game rattled the National League. The American baseball program "Baseball Bar-B-Cast" revisited the Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani's MVP chase, concluding that Ohtani's advantage is still hard to challenge. Analyst Jake Mintz bluntly said: "If Schwarber ends up hitting 74 homers (breaking the MLB record), he's the MVP. Is there a specific threshold, like 65 homers, that you think would qualify someone for MVP?"

Another analyst, Jordan Shusterman, explained that it's not that simple; Schwarber surpassing the MVP contender is unlikely. "Ohtani still has 4 or 5 starts on the mound, and he could also catch up to Schwarber in home runs. Honestly, unless Ohtani pitches terribly, so badly that it hurts the Dodgers, I don’t see how that could happen."

The two analysts noted that even if Schwarber only finishes as a finalist for the National League MVP (top 3 in voting), that would already be an impressive achievement. Schwarber has never ranked in the top 10 in voting before; finishing "just behind Ohtani" would mean he outperformed many strong contenders, including Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor and Cubs outfielder "PCA" Pete Crow-Armstrong, which is remarkable.

For 32-year-old Schwarber, this year is both a contract year and his best season yet, and he’s ready to "cash in big." American media estimate his average annual salary will exceed $30 million, with a total contract value surpassing $100 million.
