Dodgers battle to advance tomorrow, starting Glasnow against Phillies' ace left-hander Sánchez

In today's National League Division Series Game 3, both the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs avoided being swept, but face do-or-die games tomorrow. The Los Angeles Dodgers will send right-hander Tyler Glasnow to the mound, aiming to clinch the series at home, while the Phillies will counter with their ace lefty Cristopher Sánchez.

The 28-year-old Sánchez made his first All-Star appearance last year. Although he was not selected again this year, he maintained strong regular-season performance, pitching 202 innings across 32 games, recording a 13-5 win-loss record, a 2.50 ERA, a 1.064 WHIP, and striking out 212 batters. Except for WHIP, which was his second-best career mark, all other stats were personal bests, with a WAR of 8.0, ranking first among National League pitchers.

The Dominican left-hander started Game 1 of the series, pitching 5.2 innings. He walked Freddie Freeman and gave up a hit to Tommy Edman, then allowed a timely double to Enrique “Kiké” Hernández, resulting in two runs. He was eventually relieved without a decision.

The 32-year-old Glasnow also earned his first career All-Star selection last year. This season, he missed over two months due to injury, appearing in 18 regular-season games and pitching 90.1 innings with a 3.19 ERA, 1.096 WHIP, and 106 strikeouts. In the Division Series opener, he relieved starter Shohei Ohtani in the bottom of the seventh, facing eight batters, allowing two hits and two walks, and left the game in the bottom of the eighth with runners on first and second and two outs, without giving up any runs.

According to the schedule, Dodgers vs. Phillies Game 4 will start at 6:08 AM Beijing time tomorrow, while the Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers game will begin at 9:08 AM.
