Cheng Tsung-che has returned to the Chinese Taipei team training camp after being designated for assignment (DFA) again, warmly welcomed by teammates as "coming home."

Cheng Tsung-che’s offseason has been full of ups and downs. He was originally scheduled to return to the U.S. to prepare for the new season after finishing the Chinese Taipei team training on January 28, but his plans changed again. First, he was picked up by the Washington Nationals from the waiver list, only to be designated for assignment (DFA) for the fourth time just two days later. Today, according to a story posted on the official Chinese Professional Baseball League social media, Cheng has returned to the Chinese Taipei training center with his gear.

In the footage, teammates warmly greeted him with phrases like "Welcome home" and "Welcome Home." Catcher Lin Chia-cheng gave him a big hug with a heartfelt smile, and other teammates gradually gave him high-fives to welcome him back. The league wrote in the post: "We are always here for you."

Cheng Tsung-che has experienced multiple roster changes this postseason: first designated for assignment by the Pittsburgh Pirates, then picked up by the Tampa Bay Rays but designated again due to 40-man roster space requirements; later, the New York Mets gave him an opportunity but also had to make roster adjustments resulting in a third DFA. This latest move by the Nationals marks his fourth DFA in a short period.

Cheng has now rejoined the Chinese Taipei team training camp and continues to prepare with the team for the upcoming 6th World Baseball Classic (WBC).
