Chris Taylor, a versatile player who helped the Los Angeles Dodgers win two World Series titles, was released by the Dodgers in 2025 and then joined the cross-town Angels. Currently, he has not attracted interest from other teams on the free agent market. Recently, he firmly stated that he "will not retire easily."
Taylor, who owns two championship rings, recently spoke on the radio show "Dodger Talk," directly addressing speculation about the possible end of his career. He said bluntly, "Oh no, I’m going to keep playing. Don’t pull the plug on me just yet!" He expressed his passion for baseball and many goals he still wants to achieve, adding, "If I quit now, I would definitely regret it in the future."
Currently training independently in Arizona, Taylor is focusing on refining his batting technique and physical condition to ensure he is in top shape for spring training. He emphasized that he is actively seeking opportunities with a new team. Taylor admitted, "I keep training, stay in shape, and have been in contact with several teams, but that’s all I can say for now." Since the Dodgers still cover most of his remaining contract salary, any team signing him would only need to pay the minimum salary, making him a good low-risk option for teams like the Giants or Rangers looking to strengthen their roster.
Taylor’s wife is of Japanese descent, which led to questions about the possibility of him moving to Japan’s professional league. He said that as his career is in its later stages and with two young children, it’s hard to imagine relocating the whole family to Japan, so he is not considering that option for now.
