As a four-time Olympic gold medalist, Kevin Durant understands the importance of securing a Classic title for the United States.
Yesterday, this NBA star watched Team USA achieve another win in the World Baseball Classic live. Durant, wearing an Aaron Judge-signed jersey, sat behind home plate at Houston's Minute Maid Park and saw the U.S. defeat Mexico 5-3, maintaining their unbeaten record in the group stage. Judge not only signed the jersey but also wrote "All Rise" and "Three-time AL MVP" on the "99" number on Durant's jersey back.
Fittingly, Judge, serving as Team USA's captain, opened the scoring with a two-run homer.
Durant was also impressed by Paul Skenes, who pitched four scoreless innings to stifle Mexico. "Paul Skenes is a beast," Durant posted on X.

Recognized as one of the greatest players in NBA history, Durant also has extensive baseball experience. In 2016, he threw a ceremonial first pitch for the San Francisco Giants, receiving guidance from the late legend Willie Mays. Last year, while playing for the Phoenix Suns, Durant watched Chicago White Sox pitcher Justin Dunn in a spring training game in Arizona; Dunn is the brother of his then-Suns teammate Ryan Dunn.
Durant's commitment to representing his country continues. He told ESPN last month that he plans to participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Most recently, Durant helped Team USA win gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics and is the all-time leading scorer for U.S. men's basketball in Olympic history.
