Dodgers Welcome Edman; Glasnow’s Injury Status Unchanged, Manager Roberts Provides Updates

The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to welcome Gold Glove utility player Tommy Edman for his season debut tomorrow, yet on the injury list there are still many key players working hard to recover from their injuries. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed today that Tyler Glasnow, the "glass ace" whose condition was previously feared to have worsened, has shown no progress in his injury status, while also updating the manager also provided an up several injured players.

Edman Returns; Espinal Designated for Assignment Again

Glasnow's Injury Progress Stalled; Transferred to the 60-Day Injured List

Tyler Glasnow felt discomfort in his lower back during warm-up pitches in the second inning of a game on May 5th, and was forced to leave the game. Regarding other pitchers on the injured list, Roberts revealed that closer to Edwin Díaz, who underwent surgery in April, is expected to begin bullpen sessions this week. His recovery has been quicker than anticipated, and while unlikely, a return before the All-Star break is not entirely ruled out. Likewise, Cy Young left-hander Blake Snell, who was treated for a loose body in his left elbow, is progressing well. Although he has throwing program has shown significant progress in his long-toss program, though he has not yet advanced to live batting practice.

The Two Hernándezes Continue Their Efforts

In the outfield, Teoscar Hernández, who suffered a left hamstring strain, has no issues with strength or running, but still needs to pass his batting practice tests. As for Kiké Hernández, dealing has strained with a left oblique strain, has started to engage in baseball-related activities, though he still needs more before time time before he can return.
