Will Shohei Ohtani start on the mound tomorrow? Dodgers manager: No problem

Shoheihtani, the Los Angeles Dodgers' Japanese two-way star, left a game early last week due to knee inflammation. The team has since been observing his progress. During a press conference today, manager Dave Roberts stated that Ohtani is likely to pitch as a starter tomorrow. It is still uncertain if he will take the field as a two-way player.

Shoheiigan had to exit a matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 11 due to inflammation in his left knee. Since then, he has continued to play as a hitter while monitoring his knee condition. When asked about his physical status, Roberts said, "I saw him practicing catch throws, and he looked great. His body appears to be fine. I'm really looking forward to him starting tomorrow."

When asked about whether there might be any last-minute changes to his starting plans, Ohtani replied, "Almost none. Of course, until he actually steps onto the mound, I can't say there's zero uncertainty, but based on what I've seen so far, I feel fine."

The Dodgers have a late game today and will play a game tomorrow with less than 24 hours of rest. Ohtani is expected to play as a starting hitter today. Regarding this, Roberts said, "He wants to get enough sleep, so it's not ideal, but that's how the schedule works. He'll rest as much as possible and give it his all."

As for whether Ohtani will take on both pitching and hitting duties tomorrow, Roberts stated that no decision has been made yet.
