Kazuma Okamoto, together with George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the game on September 14. His season home run total reached 32, surpassing Munetaka Murakami and leading Shohei Ohtani, temporarily ranking first among Japanese MLB players.

In the bottom of the first inning, Okamoto flied out in his first at-bat. In the bottom of the third, he drew a walk, extending his on-base streak to three consecutive games. In the top of the fifth, the Orioles opened with two consecutive hits to take the lead. In the bottom of the fifth, with two outs, the Blue Jays started a rally. Springer hit the second pitch for a game-tying solo home run. Guerrero Jr. hit a go-ahead solo home run on a full count, his first home run at home this season. Okamoto, also on a full count, fouled off three pitches. The ninth pitch of the at-bat was a 97-mph four-seam fastball low in the zone. Okamoto drove it to the second deck in left field, completing the back-to-back-to-back home runs with his teammates, turning a 1-1 tie into a 4-1 lead for the Blue Jays.

Okamoto's 32nd home run this season surpassed Murakami's 31 and led Ohtani's 30, making him the top Japanese player in MLB this season. Okamoto has hit 4 home runs in his last 6 games and has a chance to set the record for most home runs by a Japanese rookie in MLB this season.
