This is the sixth time Xie Dingfeng and Su Weiyi have participated in the Asian Championships and won the championship together for the first time since they partnered in 2017. As a result, they became the second Malaysian men's doubles team to win the Asian Championships after 18 years, following Chung Teng Hock and Lee Wan Hua in 2007.

To give them recognition, the Director General of the National Sports Council, Jeffrey, confirmed that the Sheh Su duo will receive a prize of RM20,000 under the incentive mechanism of the National Sports Incentive Scheme (Shakam).

By winning the Asian Championships, Xie Su also received a bonus of about RM160,000 (about 270,000 yuan) from the event. Jeffrey said: "The Asian Championship winners have their own prize slots, and they will receive the prize money according to the regulations. The prize money will be awarded in accordance with the current mechanism of the National Sports Awards Scheme. As for the new award structure, it is currently undergoing a two-month review process, after which it will be submitted to the Council of the National Sports Council for final approval. ”

Last year, after winning a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, the duo received a prize of RM100,000 from the National Sports Awards Scheme.
