Dodgers legendary left-handed Clayton Kershaw is getting closer and closer to returning to the big leagues

After undergoing offseason surgery on his left toe and knee, the Dodgers legend left shooter completed his second rehab for 2A Tulsa on Tuesday, hitting four hits in three innings and giving up one point and four strikeouts. Northwest Arkansas included MLB Pipeline No. 1 Rookie Jac Caglianone (No. 20 overall) from the Royal Farm, a former University of Florida star hitter who hit a second base in the first inning and a first base in the second.

Kershaw completed his first rehabilitation game for triple-A Oklahoma City on April 16, and delivered two strikeouts without conceding points in three innings. It was his first competitive game since he left early on August 30, 2024 with a painful left toe, which ultimately led to his missing the remainder of the season and the Dodger World Series.

Before starting the rehab schedule, Kershaw revealed to MLB.com reporter Sonja Chen that his arm was in better shape than his left toe. Although it will be activated from the 60-day injury list at the end of May, the team is in no hurry to return immediately.

The three-time Cy Young winner will be in his 18th major league season and is just 32 strikeouts away from reaching the 3,000K milestone. If the 37-year-old achieves this achievement, he will become the 20th pitcher in history and the first pitcher to do so since Max Scherzer in 2021.
