South Korea's Gyeongsangbuk-do Province said on the 19th local time that in order to successfully hold the "2025 Asian Athletics Championships", it will strengthen the response system such as epidemic prevention.

In order to prevent the influx and occurrence of infectious diseases, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province will operate a daily monitoring system for infectious diseases from the 22nd to the 31st day after the end of the competition, and maintain a 24-hour emergency epidemic prevention mode. The 2025 Asian Athletics Championships will be held from the 27th at the Gumi Civic Stadium and other venues in Gyeongsangbuk-do, and the competition will last for five days, with more than 2,000 people including delegations and managers from 43 countries and regions in Asia participating.

The Asian Athletics Championships, which is the highest level of athletics events in Asia, is held every two years. It is not only a major review of Asian track and field strength, but also a selection competition for Asian track and field teams. At the last Asian Championships in Bangkok two years ago, the Chinese track and field team sent a total of 48 athletes to participate, and after five days of competition, they finally won 8 golds, 8 silvers and 6 bronzes.
