Martian Dominguez's mistakes were costly The Yankees lost a single point at Fenway Park

Jasson Domínguez clearly missaw the situation when he left second base for third base in seven innings today, thinking teammate Trent Grisham had struck out. The Yankees outfielder was killed at third base after two passes due to a misremembered number of balls, and he looked frustrated.

It's also a microcosm of the weekend when it arrives in Boston from Kansas City late two days ago. Hunter Dobbins blocked the line, and the Yankees lost the series 4-3 to Fenway Park. The Red Sox have won four of their five games this season.

Dobbins' six-game scoreless run confirmed his pre-match threat, which, according to the Boston Herald, declared that he would "rather retire than wear a striped jersey."

After Grisham picked two free runs, Dominguez hit Luis Guerrero for a first-run hit. Austin Wells hit a band hit a netter against Justin Wilson, but after two outs, Dominguez lost his way when Grisham swung a 2-good, 1-bad speedball. Catcher Carlos Narváez sensed he was too far from base, passed to second base and then eventually caught him at third base.

The Yankees can't afford to waste a few outs — especially after Dobbins' 82 goals were blocked by just two hits.

Carlos Rodón lost four more points (three self-blame points) in the first five innings. Anthony Volpe made a pass error to give the Red Sox first-inning points, Trevor Story and Romy González each hit a second base to add a second run, and Roden had a total of seven hits.

After a 4-3 home win over the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox finally returned to a 50-percent win after May 25.
