The Seattle Mariners have acquired the powerful first baseman Josh Naylor from the Diamondbacks.

As the trade deadline approaches, the market has heated up, and multiple sources have reported to Major League Baseball's official website that the Diamondbacks are set to trade their slugger first baseman Josh Naylor to the Mariners, with no official announcement from either team yet.

According to insiders, the Diamondbacks will receive two rookie pitchers from the Mariners: left-hander Brandyn Garcia (ranked 13th among Mariners rookies) and right-hander Ashton Izzi (ranked 16th).

During the first half of this season with the Diamondbacks, Naylor played 93 games, hitting 11 home runs and driving in 59 runs, with an OPS of 0.807. He was traded from the Cleveland Guardians to Arizona during last offseason.

The Diamondbacks are currently 5.5 games behind the National League wild-card spot and have entered full seller mode. Naylor is a key trade asset (the trade is completed), and other potential trade candidates include slugger Eugenio Suárez and pitchers Merrill Kelly and Zac Gallen.
