The Yankees are out, and the Phillies are in the mix for Diamondbacks' third baseman Suarez?

As the Yankees have confirmed Ryan McMahon as their new third baseman, it is now time to reevaluate the market for Suarez. New York was previously regarded as a key competitor for his powerful hitting, but MLB Network insider Jon Heyman has disclosed that there are "discrepancies" in discussions between the Yankees and the Diamondbacks.

So, as the Yankees have largely withdrawn from the race for Suarez, who else is still in contention? There are numerous possibilities.

According to MLB.com reporter Daniel Kramer, sources indicate that the Mariners, after acquiring first baseman Josh Naylor in a trade yesterday, still consider Suarez their top target. The Cubs are reportedly continuing their pursuit, and Fansided reporter Robert Murray mentioned that the Brewers and Tigers could be a good fit. Baseball reporter Francys Romero confirmed that the Astros are showing interest, and Heyman earlier today (before the McMahon trade was finalized) listed the Phillies as potential contenders.

Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm is expected to be sidelined until at least mid-August due to a rib fracture, and the team’s lineup needs right-handed power. However, the Phillies have recently focused more on acquiring a right-handed outfielder rather than an infielder.
