Serbian men's basketball team suffers a blow! Bogdan exits with a hamstring injury, appearing grim in the locker room

On August 30th Beijing time, Serbia beat Portugal 80-69, achieving two straight victories in the EuroBasket group phase. Yet, they suffered a blow when captain Bogdan Bogdanović injured his hamstring. After a first-half basket drive, he clutched the back of his thigh, which made him exit the match. Before leaving, Bogdan played under 15 minutes, shooting 3 of 4, scoring 7 points with 5 rebounds, and a +11 plus-minus rating.

Later, during the live broadcast of the game on Serbian national television, the commentator updated on captain Bogdan’s status: “He has a hamstring issue, stayed in the locker room, and requires a scan to further assess the injury.”

At the start of the second half, the sharpshooter from the Clippers was no longer on the team’s bench and did not return for the remainder of the game.

After the match, Serbia’s head coach Pešić did not provide any new information regarding Bogdanović’s injury; his condition remains uncertain. If Bogdan’s injury is serious, Serbia’s prospects for the championship will be less promising.

Reporters captured footage of Bogdan appearing in the team’s locker room after the game; dressed in his clothes, his expression was serious, likely reflecting concern about his injury.

Serbia was placed in Group A for this EuroBasket tournament. In the two games completed so far, besides defeating Portugal, they also won against Estonia by a 34-point margin.

Last season, Bogdan played 30 regular-season games for the Clippers, averaging 11.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 47.4% and a three-point accuracy of 42.7%.
