He can't guard me! Westbrook shouted after drawing two fouls from Alexander; the coach once again emphasized being himself.

On November 9th Beijing time, according to US media clutchpoints, during yesterday's Thunder vs. Kings match, Westbrook drew two consecutive defensive fouls from Alexander and spoke to the Thunder’s All-Star guard.

“He can't guard me!” Westbrook shouted then, “He simply can't stop me.”Alexander has always been skilled at drawing defensive fouls from opponents, and Westbrook made him feel what it’s like to be fouled. Some fans joked that this was “using his own method against him.”

Westbrook shot 9 of 17 overall, including 5 of 9 from three-point range, scoring a team-high 24 points, along with 9 assists and 6 rebounds, but also had 7 turnovers. On the other side, the Kings’ defense struggled as well; they couldn’t contain Thunder center Holtonstein — who delivered a career-best performance with 33 points and 19 rebounds, playing a key role in the Thunder’s victory.

This season marks Alexander’s ninth game scoring 30 or more points; he finished with 30 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. He sat on the bench throughout the fourth quarter, witnessing the team secure their 9th win in 10 games.

In the first 9 regular season games, Westbrook started 5 times, averaging 16.0 points, shooting 47.7% from the field and 45.7% from beyond the arc, while also contributing 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Westbrook spent the first 11 seasons of his NBA career with the Thunder, including his only Finals appearance in 2012.

Kings head coach Christy expressed support for Westbrook before the season began. He reminded reporters that he did not want the veteran guard to change his playing style while with the Kings. Christy took over as head coach mid-season last year after Brown was dismissed, and this is his first full season leading the team. He shared his expectations for the 18-year NBA veteran.

“I just want Russell to be himself,” Christy reiterated. He disagreed with the negative opinions about Westbrook circulating outside.

“You’ll see a lot of things said about him in the media, but to me, none of that is true,” Christy added. “He will give everything for the team, and that’s exactly the kind of player you want.” The Kings’ next opponent is the Timberwolves.
