On January 6th Beijing time, throughout the offseason, the Bulls, Kings, and Suns were all rumored to be interested in Kuminga, but talks between the Warriors and Bulls ended without a deal, and the offers from the Kings and Suns failed to satisfy the team. Recently, because of trade speculation around Davis, the Mavericks have joined the competition for Kuminga. Still, unless the Warriors are prepared to part with Green, obtaining Davis is almost unfeasible financially. So, which other teams are interested in Kuminga?

Yahoo Sports, citing league insiders, reported that at least three other teams are chasing Kuminga: the Trail Blazers, Pelicans, and Wizards. Here is the report from Yahoo Sports—
In theory, the Trail Blazers can offer Jerami Grant or Jrue Holiday as trade pieces. Considering Coach Kerr’s frequent use of three-guard and four-guard lineups this season, the Warriors already face a height disadvantage, so GM Mike Dunleavy would likely avoid Holiday. However, Grant is an ideal candidate: at 31, he feels somewhat out of place on the young core Trail Blazers, but he still provides versatile defense, reliable three-point shooting, and solid ball-handling offense.

However, the most enticing offer comes from the Pelicans—Trey Murphy and Herb Jones. Dunleavy should strive to acquire both players simultaneously: Murphy stands 6 feet 8 inches tall, offers comprehensive defense, and is a prolific elite shooter perfectly suited to Kerr’s pass-and-cut system; Jones is one of the league’s top perimeter defenders, capable of taking over the responsibility of guarding opposing key perimeter players as Green ages. Securing this duo would completely transform the Warriors’ roster structure. To obtain such a championship-contending pair, even if it means giving up multiple first-round picks and Kuminga, it would be worthwhile.

If this trade cannot be completed, the Warriors can still reach out to the Nets. Michael Porter Jr. is in outstanding form this season, averaging nearly 26 points per game with a three-point shooting percentage of 41%. Across the league, no player fits the Warriors better. However, according to league sources, the Nets have shown almost no interest in Kuminga since the offseason. If that’s true, a three-team trade scenario would be the best solution to resolve this issue.
