On January 6th Beijing time, NCAA games continued with the University of Oregon losing 85-88 in overtime to Rutgers University. Lin Wei delivered his best NCAA career performance. He played 33 minutes, shooting 8 of 14 from the field, 6 of 12 from three-point range, and 1 of 2 from the free-throw line, finishing with 23 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists, and 2 steals—setting career highs in points, rebounds, and three-pointers.

In the first half, Lin Wei quickly found his rhythm. Shortly after the game started, he assisted a teammate on a three-point play. Then, he hit two consecutive three-pointers. Later in the half, upon returning to the court, Lin Wei stayed hot, making a mid-range jumper from the corner, followed shortly by another three-pointer. By halftime, he was 4 for 4 from the field and 3 for 3 from beyond the arc, scoring 11 points and breaking his previous NCAA single-game scoring record of 9 points.

In the second half, Lin Wei had fewer scoring chances initially but contributed some assists to teammates. With three minutes remaining and Oregon trailing by six, Lin Wei stepped up dramatically. He astonishingly scored 11 points in the last 2 minutes and 57 seconds of the half, forcing the game into overtime. This included a game-tying three-pointer with just 4 seconds left in regulation.

However, during overtime, Oregon struggled. Lin Wei made one of two free throws, added another point, and assisted a teammate’s three-pointer, but ultimately, Oregon fell short. Congratulations to Lin Wei on delivering his best NCAA career performance yet.
