Winning despite such poor shooting! Only 3 of 16 three-pointers made, yet Liaoning defeats Tongxi, Guo Haowen scores 23 points and 8 assists in vain.

On January 6th, in the CBA regular season, Liaoning won away against Tongxi with a score of 79-66.

Tongxi’s Guo Haowen put up 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists; Manek had 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks; Zhao Baiqing scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. For Liaoning, Wells posted 24 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks; Wang Lanqin scored 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds; Fu Hao added 10 points and 6 rebounds.

In the first quarter, Wang Lanqin hit a jump shot, followed by Morland and Jiang Yuxing attacking the basket consecutively. Zhao Baiqing aggressively attacked the rim for consecutive scores, Guo Haowen made a long two-pointer, Zhao Baiqing continued to dominate inside, Zhu Mingzhen drove for a layup, and Guo Haowen nailed a three-pointer, sparking Tongxi’s comeback. By halftime, Liaoning led narrowly 34-29.

During the third quarter, Wu Tingjia hit a long-range shot, cutting Tongxi’s deficit to 32-34. Wells scored inside, Jiang Yuxing made a floater, Wang Lanqin nailed a jump shot from the free-throw line, Fu Hao hit an open three-pointer, and Zhao Baiqing’s spin move floater helped Liaoning stretch the lead to 52-44. Solomon slammed a two-handed dunk, Manek hit a three-pointer, and Guo Haowen attacked the rim again, keeping Tongxi close. The quarter ended with Liaoning narrowly ahead 54-53.

In the final quarter, Wells combined drives and jump shots to score repeatedly, Wang Lanqin scored 5 points both inside and outside, and Wells continued to dominate at the basket. Liaoning gradually asserted their strength, expanding the lead to 71-61, a 10-point margin. The rest of the game held no suspense, as Liaoning maintained their advantage and secured the victory as expected.
