Injury does not affect Jokic’s voting rank
Despite suffering a left knee injury on December 30 against the Miami Heat, Nuggets superstar Jokic still holds steady at third place in fan voting.

Reports indicate Jokic is expected to recover before the All-Star Weekend. The three-time NBA MVP may not meet the playoff eligibility criteria due to limited games this season but is very likely to make his eighth consecutive All-Star appearance.
Brunson and Maxey swap rankings
Knicks guard Brunson is averaging a career-high 29.2 points this season. Despite the team’s current four-game losing streak, his consistent performance has elevated him to fourth place in fan voting, virtually securing a second straight All-Star starting spot.

76ers guard Maxey has dropped to fifth place, but the vote difference between him and Brunson is only 7,519. Maxey is also having a career-best season, averaging 31.0 points and leading the league with 40 minutes played per game.
LeBron’s vote count steadily rises
In the first round of fan voting, Lakers superstar LeBron trailed Avdija. However, in this round, he surpassed Durant, joining the “million-vote club” as one of 14 players in the league with over one million votes, pushing toward his 22nd All-Star appearance.

Currently, LeBron has 1,059,855 votes, trailing the league’s 10th-ranked total vote-getter Jaylen Brown by 454,404 votes. With 8 days left before voting closes, LeBron must continue pushing to secure a starting spot. For what might be his final All-Star game, his chances have become much clearer.
Rules for this year’s All-Star selection
The 2026 NBA All-Star event will again feature 24 players, 12 from each conference. Five starters from each conference are chosen by a combined vote of fans (50%), current NBA players (25%), and media panel (25%). The seven reserves per conference are selected by NBA head coaches. This year’s selection will remove positional restrictions on the court.
The 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend will be held at the Clippers’ home arena, Intuition Dome, from February 14 to 16. The format is USA Team vs. World Team, featuring two teams of eight American players each and one team of eight international players competing.
If the selected 24 players do not meet the requirement of 16 American players plus 8 international players (including Americans with other national backgrounds), Commissioner Silver will add more All-Stars to any team to ensure at least 8 players per team. The All-Star game will continue with 12-minute quarters (4 quarters total). The first three quarters will be a round-robin among the three teams, and the final quarter will be a showdown between the two teams with the best round-robin records.
