Warriors-Clippers Referee Report: Three Missed Calls All Against the Clippers, Missed Offensive Foul and Violation on Draymond Green

On January 7th Beijing time, the NBA officially released the referee report for the last two minutes of the Warriors vs. Clippers game. The report revealed three missed calls in the final two minutes, all disadvantaging the Clippers. The details of the missed calls are as follows —

The first missed call occurred with 1 minute and 40 seconds left, when Warriors’ Green cut into Clippers’ Dunn’s path during a screen and made physical contact. Curry took advantage of this and made a three-point shot. This was a missed offensive foul call benefiting the Warriors and hurting the Clippers.

The second missed call happened with 1 minute and 23 seconds remaining, when Warriors’ Green stayed in the paint for more than three seconds without actively guarding an opponent. This was a missed defensive three-second violation call, benefiting the Warriors and disadvantaging the Clippers.

The third missed call took place with 54.9 seconds left, again involving Warriors’ Green who stayed in the paint over three seconds without actively defending an opponent. This was another missed defensive three-second violation call, favoring the Warriors and hurting the Clippers.

The referees sparked considerable controversy in this game. Coach Kerr was ejected due to dissatisfaction with the officiating. After the game, assistant coach Stotts attended the press conference on his behalf and joked that he was helping Kerr save money. Curry also expressed frustration, saying he wanted to confront the referees just like Kerr did.

However, the controversial plays that upset the Warriors did not occur within the last two minutes covered by the referee report, so they were not included in it. Instead, in these final two minutes, the Warriors benefited three times while the Clippers were disadvantaged three times. Ultimately, Butler missed the game-winning shot, and the Clippers narrowly defeated the Warriors 103-102.
