The referees sparked considerable controversy in this game. Coach Kerr was ejected due to dissatisfaction with the officiating. After the game, assistant coach Stotts attended the press conference on his behalf and joked that he was helping Kerr save money. Curry also expressed frustration, saying he wanted to confront the referees just like Kerr did.

However, the controversial plays that upset the Warriors did not occur within the last two minutes covered by the referee report, so they were not included in it.
