LeBron James May Decline Retirement Tour! Cavaliers Willing to Facilitate His Third Stint; Mitchell Responds

On January 29th Beijing time, according to Lakers reporter Dave, LeBron James is not necessarily planning to hold a retirement tour. Additionally, the Cavaliers are open to making his third return to the team, though many factors come into play.

“If his body isn’t up to par, this retirement tour might bring some criticism — he goes to a city, fans scramble to buy tickets to cheer for him, yet he can’t step on the court. He doesn’t want to be shadowed by such disappointment wherever he goes.” Dave said before the Lakers vs. Cavaliers game.

Furthermore, Dave also reported that the Cavaliers are willing to collaborate with LeBron for a third time.

“Whether this plan can be realized depends on many factors. First, will LeBron still be able to compete next season? Can his body endure the intense demands of an NBA season? Does he still want to keep playing? Second, is he willing to travel for away games — obviously, his wife Savannah and 11-year-old daughter live in Los Angeles, his son Bryce studies at the University of Arizona, and another son, Bronny, plays for the Lakers. Cleveland is far from Los Angeles, but frankly, based on sources from the league and within the Cavaliers, as long as LeBron signs as a free agent this summer, the Cavaliers are very eager to make this ‘third stint’ happen.”

Clearly, this would be a fairy-tale ending to LeBron’s career, but the ultimate direction remains uncertain — will he choose a team closer to home? Will he stay with the Lakers? Or will he seek another team to chase a championship — if the Lakers miss out on the title this season, he might go all out for his fifth ring; if they win, his goal will be the sixth ring.

Additionally, Mitchell spoke about LeBron’s return game tonight during an interview with Spears:

“I feel this game might be LeBron’s farewell at this arena. But personally, I don’t see this as the end of his career. This game holds great meaning for the city, for him, for the entire league, and for me — it’s destined to be a special matchup. Of course, we still need to approach it normally, treating it as a regular season game, but at the same time, we must recognize that this game could very well be historic.”

When asked if he would like to play alongside LeBron, Mitchell smiled.

“That’s not my decision,” Mitchell said. “It’s not up to me. Right now, I’m focused on the teammates in the locker room. From that perspective, everything else will naturally fall into place. But that’s not my concern; I’m focused on our current roster and excited about it.”
