On January 29th Beijing time, before the Lakers played the Cavaliers on the road, the Cavaliers introduced James last and showed a tribute video to the superstar. Revisiting classic moments from his Cleveland career, James appeared deeply touched. The footage showed him wiping away tears multiple times, using either a tissue or his jersey, clearly indicating the Cavaliers chapter holds significant meaning in his heart.

Before the game, the Cavaliers also hung two welcome home posters outside the visiting team’s locker room, featuring James and his son Bronny. Interestingly, reports surfaced today that the Cavaliers are open and welcoming toward a third stint with James, provided he becomes a free agent. After all, the Cavaliers have already exceeded the luxury tax threshold, making it difficult to acquire James through a trade.

Lakers reporter Dave commented on the possibility of James rejoining the Cavaliers: “Whether this plan materializes depends on many factors. First, can James still compete next season? Can his body handle the intense demands of an NBA season? Does he still want to keep playing? Secondly, is he willing to play far from home — obviously, his wife Savannah and 11-year-old daughter live in Los Angeles, his son Bryce attends the University of Arizona, and another son Bronny plays for the Lakers. Cleveland is quite far from Los Angeles, but frankly, I’ve heard from league and Cavaliers insiders that if LeBron signs as a free agent this summer, the Cavaliers are very willing to make this ‘third homecoming’ happen.”
When asked if he would be willing to play alongside James again, Cavaliers star Mitchell smiled. “That’s not my decision,” Mitchell said. “It’s not up to me. Right now, I’m focused on my teammates in the locker room. From that perspective, everything else will naturally unfold. But that’s not my concern; I’m concentrating on our current roster and I’m excited about it.”
