The highly anticipated NBA All-Star event this season will be held in mid-February in Los Angeles, USA.
NBA has officially released the full roster of players for the 2026 All-Star game after confirming 14 additional reserves for the season's most awaited event. Two weeks earlier, 10 starters were announced, completing the lineup of 24 stars who will participate in the highly anticipated event from February 13 to 15 at Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers.
The 2026 All-Star Game marks a major milestone as the NBA introduces a completely new format: USA versus the World, replacing the traditional East vs. West star matchup. Accordingly, the event will feature three teams, each with eight players – two teams representing American players and one team of international stars – competing in a round-robin format, with each game lasting 12 minutes.
The highlight of the reserve list is LeBron James, who has been selected once again to the All-Star roster, extending his personal record to 22 consecutive appearances. Despite turning 41 in December, the Los Angeles Lakers star continues to perform impressively, averaging 21.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.4 assists over 30 games this season. The "King" was chosen by NBA coaches as a Western Conference reserve, surpassing strong contenders like Kawhi Leonard and Alperen Sengun.
The Western Conference reserve roster is a blend of established stars and rising talents. Alongside LeBron James are Anthony Edwards, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, plus two first-time All-Stars, Jamal Murray and Chet Holmgren.
Meanwhile, the Eastern Conference reserve squad is equally impressive, featuring experienced stars such as Donovan Mitchell, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Pascal Siakam, mixed with first-time All-Stars like Jalen Duren and Jalen Johnson.
Another notable point is that despite the significant change in the competition format, the player selection process remains unchanged. Fans, players, and media continue to vote for the starting lineup, while coaches select seven reserves for each conference. However, the NBA has removed position restrictions, allowing the best players to be chosen regardless of their roles on the court.
To ensure balance in the USA vs. World format, the NBA requires at least 16 American players and 8 international players on the All-Star roster, while also permitting Commissioner Adam Silver to make additional selections if necessary. Some international stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo are likely to miss the event due to injury, but the 2026 All-Star Game still promises a fresh and exciting experience for global fans.
