On February 3rd Beijing time, according to reporter Fischer, Giannis may have reservations about joining an "aging" team like the Golden State Warriors, and he also fears suffering the same criticism Durant faced for playing under Curry’s leadership.

“Sources within the league revealed that the Warriors have noticed recent rumors: the public has assumed Giannis would be eager to join Curry’s team and move to that city, but that might not be the case. How credible these rumors are is likely only known by Giannis himself. However, insiders speculate that Giannis might back out — partly because the Warriors’ roster is older, and partly because he doesn’t want to end up like Durant, who still faces criticism for teaming up with Curry.”

Earlier reports indicated that the Warriors have put everything on the table to acquire Giannis. Their current offer includes Kuminga, Butler (possibly swapped for Green), and Pojeimski, plus four first-round draft picks and two pick swap rights. This package remains on the negotiation table. The Bucks are likely waiting to see if other teams can present better offers before the trade deadline.
Since Durant left the Warriors in 2019, Giannis has been the top target for owner Lacob and the management. The Warriors have always hoped to form a duo of Giannis and Curry, but it now appears Giannis might not be as eager to join the Warriors.
So far this season, Giannis has played 30 games for the Bucks, averaging 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 5.6 assists, with a shooting percentage of 64.5%. He is currently on indefinite leave due to a calf injury.
