Giannis delivers his latest championship pursuit remarks! Three potential destinations? Still possible to stay until this summer's trade deadline

On February 5th Beijing time, Giannis said in an interview with the Milwaukee Sentinel Journal: "If you ask me what I truly desire deep down, I want to wear the Bucks jersey until I retire and win another championship here."

He continued, "But if that goal ultimately cannot be reached, when you realize the team's plans might not align with you, and they may already be seeking other paths for the future that don't include you, naturally you have to either cooperate with the team's arrangements or weigh other options. This is very normal. I have always been willing to listen and trust the team's decisions, but what I want to say is, how many more chances do I have to compete for a championship? So every decision I make going forward must be more cautious and urgent."

Reporter Shams shared the latest updates on Giannis's trade situation on today's show —

“From what I understand, over the past few months Giannis has repeatedly made it clear to the Bucks that he believes it's time for both sides to part ways. This has forced the Bucks to seriously consider offers from other teams, enter negotiations, and maintain ongoing communication as the trade deadline approaches. Potential destinations include the Heat, Timberwolves, and Warriors.”

“Ultimately, Bucks GM Horst and the management must agree on a crucial question after reviewing all offers — whether to complete the trade now or wait until the offseason. Just recently, I spoke with sources from several potential trade teams, and there is skepticism about whether the Bucks truly have the resolve to finalize such a franchise-altering deal before the deadline.”

“The Bucks clearly need to weigh the risks and rewards of making a trade now. Both trading now or waiting until summer have their pros and cons. If they wait until the offseason, Giannis will have only one year left on his contract, giving him greater leverage to decide his next team. On the other hand, the Bucks’ goal for the second half of the season may shift toward targeting a higher lottery pick. If Giannis wants to play in the latter half, that could directly conflict with the team’s objectives. So even if the trade doesn't happen before the deadline, what happens next remains worth watching.”
