6 for 2! Another major trade has taken place! Goodbye, Rockets!

Another trade has taken place, with the Bulls trading Dosunmu and Phillips for Dillingham, Leonard Miller, and four second-round draft picks.

The standout player in this transaction is Dosunmu, born on January 17, 2000, a 1.93-meter versatile guard, the eighth pick in the 2021 second round. This season, he has appeared in 45 games, starting 10, averaging 26.3 minutes per game, delivering 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, shooting 51.4% from the field, including an impressive 45.1% from three-point range and 85.7% from the free-throw line.

It is worth mentioning that, prior to this, the Rockets had expressed interest in acquiring Dosunmu to strengthen their backcourt depth.

However, the outcome was clear: the Rockets were only interested or their offer was not competitive enough compared to the Timberwolves.

In a recent game, the Rockets suffered a heavy 93-114 home defeat against the Celtics, who were missing Jaylen Brown and Vucevic. After the game, team reporter Bradeaux tweeted angrily, calling it the worst performance he has seen this season and described it as embarrassing.

Currently, the Rockets hold a 31-18 record, ranking fourth in the Western Conference, half a game behind the third-place Nuggets, one game ahead of the seventh-place Suns, and are on the edge between the top three and falling out of the playoff spots.

Back to Dosunmu, this season is a contract year for him, earning $7.52 million. Whether the Timberwolves will re-sign him remains unknown for now.

At present, the Timberwolves lack a true starting point guard. Their current backcourt duo is Edwards and DiVincenzo. With Dosunmu's arrival, he is expected to push into the starting lineup or continue playing his familiar role as a high-impact sixth man.

Of course, the Timberwolves’ primary goal at this year’s trade deadline is to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo. Landing the Greek Freak would allow them to advance beyond two consecutive Western Conference Finals exits, aiming for the Finals and ultimately the championship.

However, ESPN reporter Windhorst holds a different opinion, suggesting that by trading for Dosunmu, the Timberwolves have effectively withdrawn from the pursuit of Giannis...
