The Clippers have made another move! Banton joins on a 10-day short-term contract, averaging 24+6+4 in the G League.

On February 8th Beijing time, according to reporters Fischer and Scotto, the Clippers, following the trades of Harden and Zubac, have made another move by signing free agent Dalano Banton to a 10-day contract.

Banton, a local from Toronto, was picked 46th in the 2021 draft by the Raptors. He spent two years with his hometown team and then played for the Celtics and Trail Blazers in the following two seasons.

Between 2021 and 2025, Banton appeared in 216 games, averaging 14.5 minutes per game with 6.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. He shot 40.2% from the field, 30.4% from three, and 72.8% from the free-throw line. Standing 2.03 meters tall, Banton possesses excellent size for a guard but struggled with efficiency throughout his first four years.

During the 2025 offseason, Banton was unable to secure a standard NBA contract and instead signed an Exhibit 10 training camp deal with the Mavericks in October, only to be waived later. Currently, he plays for the Mavericks' G League affiliate, the Texas Legends.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a high usage rate in the G League this season, delivering impressive stats: over 32 games, he averaged 32.7 minutes, 24.2 points, 6.7 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game, shooting 44.1% from the field, 32.5% from three, and 82.1% from the free-throw line.

After completing three trades before the deadline, the Clippers have two open roster spots, with Banton set to temporarily fill one. If his 10-day contract becomes official before Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves, it will expire during the All-Star weekend.
