NBA announces Three-Point Contest roster: Two-time champion Lillard surprisingly included, Mitchell and Knupel among participants

On February 9th Beijing time, the NBA released the lineup for the 2026 All-Star Three-Point Shootout, scheduled for February 15th at the Clippers’ home venue, the Intuition Dome. The three-point contest is the first event of the day.

The roster of 8 participants is as follows—

Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns)

Con Knupel (Charlotte Hornets)

Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers)

Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers)

Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers)

Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets)

Bobby Portis (Milwaukee Bucks)

Norman Powell (Miami Heat)

This year’s three-point contest features five 2026 NBA All-Stars: Booker, Maxey, Mitchell, Murray, and Powell.

The lineup also includes two former three-point contest champions: Booker (2018 champion) and two-time winner Lillard (2023, 2024). Lillard, a nine-time NBA All-Star, if victorious this time, will tie the record held by Larry Bird and Craig Hodges with three titles. Lillard’s selection is unexpected, as this nine-time All-Star tore his Achilles tendon last April and will miss the entire season.

Four players will make their three-point contest debut: Knupel, Maxey, Murray, and Portis. Among them, Knupel has the chance to become the first rookie ever to win this competition.

The contest consists of two rounds where players have 70 seconds to shoot from multiple three-point spots, aiming to score as many points as possible. The top three scorers from the first round advance to the final, where the highest scorer wins the championship.
