On February 9th Beijing time, NBA commissioner Adam Silver revealed Shen Jing's selection for this year's All-Star lineup. He will take the spot of the injured Alexander on the World Team. After being selected last season, Shen Jing has earned this honor again, making him the first Turkish player to be named an All-Star twice.

Shen Jing himself shared the All-Star poster on his Instagram, accompanied by two folded hands emojis, expressing his sincere thanks for this selection. Rockets teammate Durant also posted the same image, writing: "Congrats to number 28 Shen Jing, twice now, and many more to come!"

So far this season, Shen Jing has averaged 20.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game for the Rockets.
NBA commissioner Silver is responsible for choosing replacement players for those who are injured. The 10 All-Star starters are selected through weighted voting by fans, media, and current players, while the 14 reserves are voted in by the head coaches of each NBA team.
Last week, Silver also added Clippers' Leonard to the All-Star roster. Under the new USA vs. World team format, Leonard's addition ensures the USA team reaches the required 16 players, with at least 8 players on each team.
This year’s All-Star event will feature two USA teams and one World team, which will first compete in a round-robin format. The top two teams will then advance to the All-Star final. All four games will last 12 minutes each, matching the length of a standard NBA quarter.

Shen Jing is one of only two Turkish players ever to be All-Stars; the other is Okur, who made his sole All-Star appearance in 2007.
