On February 20th Beijing time, according to New York reporter Sanchez, after a disappointing end to his Spurs career, Jeremy Sohan is eager to start a new chapter in his NBA journey with the New York Knicks. He dyed his hair Knicks blue and orange to pay tribute to his new team and discussed in an interview what he can contribute to the squad.

“I can do a bit of everything, so whatever the coach wants me to do, as long as it gets me on the court, I’ll do it and give it my all,” he said. “At the core, I want to be myself... I bring versatility, defense, energy, and toughness. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Sohan actually had several options. Reports say that after his waiver period, 10 teams showed interest in signing him, but he said New York “has always been the first choice.” He added that communication with the Knicks’ management was “refreshing,” and training with the team now feels “very natural.”

“I’m just going to seize every opportunity I get,” Sohan said. “One reason I chose New York is because the roster is deep with many talented players. For me, watching and learning from them is a great chance to grow. I’m still young, and playing alongside those who have established themselves and succeeded in the league is an invaluable opportunity for me.”
Reflecting on his time with the Spurs, Sohan admitted the core issue was that he never got a real chance, hinting that he didn’t always see eye to eye with the coach. While this might be his perspective, some incidents and behaviors did occur during that period. Sohan didn’t take full responsibility for these and prefers to keep those matters private and behind the scenes.

According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, Sohan’s playing time will likely reduce opportunities for rookie forward Diabala. The Knicks want to evaluate Sohan over the long term to see what impact he can make before the playoffs and determine if he’s a fit to stay on the team next season.
“(Sohan) knows the league, and the league knows him. He’s familiar with the referees, and they know him too. So he will get chances,” head coach Mike Brown said. “But ultimately, I’ll put in whoever I think benefits the team the most. Right now, Sohan is still a rookie and hasn’t played for us yet, so I need to assess his abilities quickly before the playoffs.”
