Clippers have 4 players out against Timberwolves! Leonard sidelined with ankle soreness: 4 more missed games would make him award-ineligible

On February 27, Beijing time, the Clippers updated their injury report, listing four players out for today's game against the Timberwolves: Leonard (left ankle soreness), Collins (head laceration, neck soreness), Beal (left hip fracture), and Garland (left toe injury management). For Leonard, who scored 37 points against the Magic last game, this marks his 14th personal absence this season, meaning if he misses four more games, he will become ineligible for season-end awards.

In the previous game against the Magic, Leonard posted 37 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in 33 minutes, shooting 14-of-25 from the field and 2-of-7 from three-point range. Leonard has remained largely healthy for most of the 2025-26 season. The two-time Finals MVP has played 44 games so far, averaging 28.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, with shooting splits of 49.4% from the field and 38.1% from three.

This is his sixth season with the Clippers. Before joining the Clippers, Leonard played for the San Antonio Spurs and the Toronto Raptors, winning a championship with each franchise. The Clippers had a rough start to the season (and traded away a key player), but under Leonard's leadership, they hold a 27-30 record, placing 10th in the West after 57 games.

The team is currently on a two-game losing streak and has a 5-5 record in their last 10 games. After facing the Timberwolves, the Clippers will host the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. Their home record stands at 14 wins and 12 losses in 26 games.

On the other side, the Timberwolves remain one of the NBA's top teams, with a 36-23 record in 59 games, ranking 5th in the West and just one game behind the 3rd-place Houston Rockets.

After playing the Clippers, the Timberwolves will travel to Denver to face the Nuggets on Monday. Their road record is 16 wins and 12 losses in 28 games.
