Injury wave hits Warriors! Team signs 2.11m center with 10-day contract averaging 23+13 in G League

On March 15 Beijing time, according to renowned reporter Shams, the Warriors will sign free agent center Yurtseven to a 10-day short-term contract, confirmed by his agent.

Yurtseven is 2.11 meters tall. During the 2021-24 seasons with the Heat and Jazz, he played 113 NBA regular-season games, averaging 11.8 minutes per game, scoring 5.0 points and grabbing 4.6 rebounds. Ten days ago, he signed a G League contract and played for the Vipers, the Rockets' affiliate team.

In three games for the Vipers this month, the 27-year-old Yurtseven averaged 29.7 minutes per game, contributing 23.0 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks, with a field goal percentage of 56.9% and a free throw percentage of 87.5%.

As a player with three years of NBA experience, Yurtseven's 10-day contract salary is $136,717, and the Warriors will bear a salary cap hit of $131,970. The Warriors roster already had one vacancy, so signing Yurtseven does not require cutting any player.

This Turkish interior player spent most of the past two years overseas playing for Panathinaikos, and recently parted ways with this Greek EuroLeague team.

The Warriors have recently been hit by a severe injury wave, and Yurtseven will provide the team with strong rebounding protection.

Besides Butler (right ACL tear) and Stephen Curry (runner's knee) who have been sidelined since January, Moody has missed the past six games due to a right wrist sprain; additionally, four players (Green, Horford, Seth Curry, Post) were injured and left the game around yesterday's loss to the Timberwolves.

Veteran center Horford is expected to miss multiple games due to a right calf injury. According to Warriors reporter Slater, the 39-year-old Horford has been diagnosed with a soleus (calf) strain, while Seth Curry has a left adductor strain. Except for Post being questionable, all the aforementioned players will miss Monday's game against the Knicks.

In the first game of the back-to-back, Melton (left knee injury management) and Porzingis (routine illness management) will also be absent.
