On March 15 Beijing time, the Trail Blazers officially announced that they have assigned center Yang Hansen to the G League Remix team. In yesterday's game against the Jazz, Yang Hansen only appeared in the final moments for 48 seconds, recording zero stats across all categories with a plus/minus of -3.

Before being recalled to the Trail Blazers, Yang Hansen performed well in the G League. In two back-to-back games against the San Diego Clippers, he scored 31 points with 8 rebounds, and 16 points with 13 rebounds (including 7 offensive rebounds). Including the 48 seconds against the Jazz, Yang Hansen played games on three consecutive days, but his appearance for the Trail Blazers was clearly just a token gesture.

Next, the G League Remix team will have a stretch of four consecutive home games. Provided he remains healthy, Yang Hansen is expected to play four straight home games for the Remix, facing the South Bay Lakers twice and the Raptors 905 twice. For Hansen, this offers more developmental value than sitting on the bench with the Trail Blazers.

Although backup center Robert Williams III was absent in yesterday's game against the Jazz, head coach Spoelstra relied on Clint Capela and small-ball lineups, preventing Yang Hansen from entering the rotation. He only appeared during garbage time.
This season, Yang Hansen averages 2.2 points, 1.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.1 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game for the Trail Blazers; in the G League, he averages 17.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game.

Previously, when Trail Blazers media analyzed Hansen's performance, they noted that whether Yang Hansen can unlock his untapped potential may hinge on confidence. He appears much more comfortable in the G League, playing as if he is the best player on the court. This is a positive sign for the Trail Blazers, indicating that he simply needs more time to adapt to the life of crossing oceans and competing in the NBA.
His technical talent has always been present, which is exceptionally rare for a 2.16-meter interior player. The challenge lies in translating these skills to a higher-level stage, but at least, the Trail Blazers have ample time. The media suggested that the Trail Blazers should continue to hold "Yang Hansen stock," as they don't want to be the type that sells early and misses out on the NBA's next "Bitcoin."
