On March 22 Beijing time, Stephen Curry currently does not plan to leave the Golden State Warriors, but after his father Dell Curry's jersey was retired by the Hornets, he at least joked about the possibility of joining the Charlotte Hornets in the future.

While in Charlotte, Curry was interviewed by local WSOC-TV reporter Dashawn Brown and asked about a previous statement he made to his father: if he ever joins the Hornets, he hopes they would exceptionally reactivate the No. 30 jersey.
Curry said: "Always gotta leave yourself some wiggle room, haha. As you said, jersey retirement means it's sealed forever, no one should touch it again. But if that day ever comes, I believe he'd make an exception for me."

During halftime of Friday's game against the Orlando Magic, the Hornets officially retired Dell Curry's jersey.
Dell Curry spent 10 of his 16 NBA seasons in Charlotte. Stephen Curry grew up in Charlotte and attended Davidson College, which is less than 25 miles from Charlotte.
Although Curry has always stated throughout his career that he only wants to play for the Warriors for his entire career, he also admitted: if he ever has to leave the Warriors, the Hornets are the only team he would consider.

In September 2022, while receiving the key to the city of Charlotte, Curry said: "Everyone asks me, whether I'd come to the Hornets for a year and then go back... I'm not revealing anything now, nor making any promises. I can only say, if there's one team besides the Warriors I'd play for, it's the Hornets."
Although the likelihood of Curry following his father and joining the Hornets is not high, it's not entirely impossible. This four-time champion has only one year left on his contract with the Warriors.
From now until the summer of 2027, nothing is certain. The Hornets are currently building a young core around promising stars like LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, and Kon Knupel.
