Always saying Harden is better than me! Wade criticizes Beverley: When I won championships, you were nowhere to be seen.

On March 28 Beijing time, Beverley has recently publicly stated that Harden is stronger than Wade, even claiming the gap is not close. Wade responded on a podcast program, firing back with full force.

"You've never been better than me in your entire playing career, why bring me up? On the basketball court, you don't surpass me in any single skill, so don't point fingers at me with your mouth... You've only witnessed a small part of my career. When I won championships, you were nowhere to be seen. You don't understand the caliber of player I am, nor have you experienced the terror of me at my peak. My career was affected by injuries, yet I still made it into the NBA's 75 Greatest Players list. You know just a superficial bit, and even with that, you still don't deserve to compare yourself to me."

"When Beverley said that, I was sitting there thinking: what's your basis? When discussing who is better, either argue logically or simply say 'I personally prefer, I enjoy watching this style more.' It should be said: where is he strong, what are his strengths. You absolutely cannot just open your mouth and claim someone is better than someone else, especially when you yourself are not as good as me. You can't do that. Talking about who is the better player requires looking at all aspects of basketball. You know how strong I was in many areas, but people just love to focus on: he didn't score 70 points, didn't score 60 points, didn't achieve those stats you like to watch, and then say wow this guy is amazing."

"We all are amazing. In basketball, no one truly believes someone else is better than themselves. But preferences are preferences, everyone has their own favorites. However, you can never say someone is better than me, better than Jordan, better than LeBron—such statements should only be 'I prefer this player, I appreciate some aspects of him more.' But as overall basketball players, we are all strong, that's why we all made it into the 75 Greatest Players list. So if you're not in the 75 Greatest, don't casually evaluate those inside."

"I really don't understand how such words are spoken. What are we talking about being better? We are all in that group, every player in the 75 Greatest has areas where they are better than others, but we entered that circle for reasons. I don't even know what to say, it's too absolute. I truly can't comprehend, how can you just say someone is better than someone else? You just prefer that style more, that doesn't mean he is better than me."

Wade also acknowledged Harden as a historic-level scorer, while emphasizing he himself was an all-around offensive and defensive player: skilled at driving to finish inside, a top-tier defender, and possessing excellent blocking ability.
