On March 29 Beijing time, the NBA officially announced that Los Angeles Lakers guard Doncic, having accumulated his 16th technical foul in the 2025-26 season, will be suspended for one game without pay. Salary expert Marks indicated that this suspension will cost Doncic 1/174 of his season salary, approximately $264,000. This time, Doncic's technical foul was not rescinded.

According to NBA rules, when a player or coach accumulates their 16th technical foul during the regular season, they are automatically suspended for one game without pay; thereafter, for every two additional technical fouls accumulated, they face an additional automatic one-game unpaid suspension.

Doncic received his latest technical foul during the Lakers' 116-99 victory over the Brooklyn Nets at Crypto.com Arena on March 28, when he clashed with Zavier with 5:12 remaining in the third quarter. He will serve his suspension on March 31 when the Lakers host the Washington Wizards at home.

After yesterday's game, a reporter asked Doncic: You received your 16th personal technical foul. What happened during that sequence?
Doncic responded: "He got up close to my face three times, I just wanted to walk away, and then they called a double technical foul. I didn't even say anything, I just wanted to leave. They said I pushed him, but it was clearly exaggerated, I really didn't do that. I don't know what else to say."
