Wembanyama questionable for Game 4! Coach confirms he remains under concussion protocol: He is striving for an early return

On April 26 Beijing time, the Spurs updated their injury report, indicating that star player Wembanyama remains in the concussion safety evaluation process, making his Game 4 status questionable. For Game 3, he was first listed as questionable and then downgraded to out prior to the game.

This Defensive Player of the Year has been absent since suffering a head impact on the floor in the second quarter of Game 2. Spurs coach Mitch Johnson confirmed today that the team's two-time All-Star Wembanyama is still following the NBA concussion protocol, so his availability for Game 4 of the first-round series against the Trail Blazers remains uncertain.

The Spurs currently lead the series 2-1, and Game 4 will be held at Moda Center on Monday.

Johnson stated during a media interview at the team's hotel: "We are still following the evaluation process and maintaining communication with the NBA league."

About 90 minutes before Game 3, the team officially announced he would be out, and he watched the entire game from the bench. Before that game, Wembanyama still completed most of his warm-up routine, including full-court sprint drills.

"I have coached Wembanyama for three years, and whenever he cannot play, he is always eager to return to the court," Johnson said. "That never changes. I know he is doing everything possible to overcome the current situation and aim for an early comeback."

During the regular season, Wembanyama played 64 games, averaging 25 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 51.2% and a three-point percentage of 34.9%.
