West Finals Game 6 Injury Report: Mitchell Remains Out, Jalen Willliams Questionable, Spurs Fully Available for Do-or-Die Matchup

On May 28 (Beijing time), the injury status for Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals was announced. For the Thunder, Ajay Mitchell (strained right soleus muscle) and Sobor (right ACL reconstruction surgery) continue to be absent, and Jalen Williams (strained left hamstring) is doubtful. The Spurs have a clean bill of health as they face a must‑win situation; a loss would mean elimination and no trip to the Finals.

This injury report is identical to the one before Game 5 (the pivotal "Tianwangshan" game). At that time, Mitchell was already ruled out a day early, and Jalen Williams was also listed as questionable. By the time Game 5 started, Williams had been downgraded to out. Considering the typical recovery timeline for a hamstring strain, it is highly unlikely that Williams will play in Game 6. Additionally, the Thunder currently hold a 3‑2 series lead over the Spurs, so there is no reason to take any unnecessary risks.

Earlier, renowned reporter Shams had reported that both Jalen Williams and Mitchell were being evaluated on a day‑to‑day basis. Williams has suffered two hamstring injuries within a month; he has made some progress on the practice court and is able to do more and more. As for Mitchell, he has been dealing with tightness in his right calf throughout the playoffs, which was ultimately diagnosed as a right calf strain.

Despite being without Jalen Williams and Mitchell, the Thunder still defeated the Spurs in Game 5 (the "Tianwangshan" game). McCain and Caruso effectively shared the scoring burden with SGA. Caruso scored 22 points—more than Wembanyama's total—and McCain also contributed 20 points.

Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals will tip off at 8:30 AM Beijing time on May 29. Will the Thunder advance to the Finals with a 4‑2 victory, or will the Spurs force a Game 7 by tying the series 3‑3? Let's wait and see.
