In the first quarter, Shanghai's highly anticipated import Whiteside missed his second consecutive game. Wang Zhelin, Li Hongquan, Fogg, and Zhang Zhenlin combined inside and out to produce a strong start, as Shanghai opened with an 11-0 scoring run. Zhu Junlong hit a three-pointer to break the ice for Guangsha. Zhang Zhenlin's emphatic dunk drew cheers, and Li Hongquan's trademark three extended the lead back to 10 points. Guangsha struggled to score, led by Hu Jinqiu, while Shanghai's outside shooting was on fire—Zhang Zhenlin and Li Hongquan each hit threes. Brown answered with a deep three, but Goodwin immediately responded with a pull-up three. Sun Minghui and Brown then scored consecutively to cut the deficit. Shanghai led 27-20 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Li Tianrong and Goodwin combined for five points, pushing Shanghai's lead to 12. Once again, Hu Jinqiu stepped up, scoring in succession to reduce the gap to eight. Lofton, playing through injury, hit a one-handed floater to lift his team's spirits. Brown used his individual skills to score repeatedly, and after hitting a wide-open three, Guangsha closed to 33-39, forcing a Shanghai timeout. Coming out of the timeout, Li Hongquan immediately sank a three, while Brown traded baskets and free throws to keep pace. After Hu Jinqiu scored on a turnaround layup, Guangsha trailed by just one point. At halftime, Shanghai led 46-45.

In the third quarter, Hu Jinqiu scored five straight points on drives and jumpers, and Brown added a three as Guangsha unleashed an 8-0 run to take the lead. Li Tianrong and Fogg answered with an 8-0 run to tie the game at 53. Li Hongquan and Brown traded threes, and the lead seesawed. Fogg converted multiple free throws, and Shanghai led 63-62. Goodwin and Yan Pengfei then scored successively, giving Shanghai a 67-65 advantage at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Hu Jinqiu went to the free-throw line, and Brown scored on a reverse layup to give Guangsha a 2-point lead, forcing a Shanghai timeout. At a critical moment, Goodwin hit a long three from the top of the key to tie the game. Brown responded with a step-back three, putting Guangsha ahead again. After Brown scored a layup for his 46th point, Guangsha led 83-77, prompting another Shanghai timeout. Out of the timeout, Li Tianrong and Li Hongquan combined for points from the field and the line, sparking a 9-1 run that put Shanghai back in front. Brown once again stepped up, scoring on two fast-break layups to give Guangsha an 88-86 lead, forcing another Shanghai timeout. After the timeout, Zhang Zhenlin drove for a layup to tie the game again, and Guangsha called a timeout. In the final seconds, Brown turned the ball over on a drive, and Goodwin stole it, then launched a buzzer-beating three from the arc to win the game 91-88.
