On May 30, Beijing time, per ESPN, Mike Ganzey, the general manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers, has accepted the position of president of basketball operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, departing from the Cavaliers to move to Philadelphia.

Ganzey steadily climbed the ladder since joining the Cavaliers' management in the 2011-12 season, and now he will oversee the highest basketball operations for the 76ers.
Previously, the team's management decided to part ways with Morey, after which Bob Myers, president of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, led the search for the 76ers' new head of basketball operations. Myers, who once built the Golden State Warriors dynasty, helped the team win four NBA championships.
In the future, Myers will work closely with Ganzey, assisting him in executing the team's development plan.
According to sources, the final candidates for the 76ers' president of basketball operations were Ganzey and Nick U'Ren, an executive with the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury. This week, the two traveled separately to the East Coast for final interviews with the team's owner, and the team ultimately decided to hire Ganzey today.
Over the past three years, U'Ren served as the top basketball executive for the Mercury; while working together at the Warriors, he also held multiple management roles under Myers.
The 76ers finished the regular season with a 45-37 record, eliminated the Celtics 4-3 in the first round of the playoffs, and were swept 0-4 by the Knicks in the second round.
