Amazing, absolutely amazing! Reportedly wants to leave again! Lakers' 4-for-1 trade plan revealed

What?

So it turns out Davis was using the Wizards as a stepping stone... To be precise, the early extension talks between Davis and the Wizards have made no progress, so he's considering leaving.

However, considering Davis's current low trade value, the Wizards want him to show some performance next season before selling him at a "high price."

It's reported that teams such as the Warriors, Celtics, Raptors, Hornets, and Timberwolves are interested in bringing Davis on board.

The Lakers media outlet Lakers Legacy also chimed in, expressing hope that Davis could return to the Purple and Gold. However, the Lakers' trade package is only Vanderbilt + Knecht + this year's No. 25 pick + a 2030 first-round pick swap, which is unlikely to impress the Wizards' front office.

Before this year's trade deadline, the Mavericks sent Davis + Jaden Hardy + Russell + Exum to the Wizards in exchange for Middleton + AJ Johnson + Branham + Bagley + 2 first-round picks + 3 second-round picks.

Unfortunately, due to injuries and other reasons, Davis has yet to play a single game for the Wizards.

However, Davis hasn't been useless to the Wizards. As a "good luck charm" for the No. 1 pick, his arrival helped the Wizards secure this year's top pick. His previous teams, the Pelicans (2019, Zion) and the Mavericks (2025, Flagg), also benefited from this luck.

Getting back to the point, a healthy Davis is undoubtedly still a top-tier All-Star big man in the league. The problem is he's never healthy. In his one and a half seasons with the Mavericks, he played only 29 games total, which led to him being traded to the Wizards at a discount. Moreover, at 33, his injury situation will become even more unpredictable.

Davis's current contract expires in the summer of 2028, with salaries of $58.46 million and $62.79 million for the remaining two seasons. This summer, he's eligible to sign a four-year, $275 million max extension.

When asked about his relationship with the Wizards this April, Davis said frankly: "I have a contract, and I love money."

The pillar that the Purple and Gold once prided themselves on has ultimately ended up living a wandering life.
