Curry personally recruited James to join the Warriors! The final stop would be a 2-year, $30.8 million contract.

Bleacher Report journalist Eric Pincus analyzed and predicted James' free agency destination this summer. He stated, “Kerr has agreed to continue coaching the Golden State Warriors, and Curry will sign an extension with the team, focusing on a short-term push, alongside Draymond Green, Kristaps Porziņģis, and Jimmy Butler.”

“For a team with cap space like the Bulls or Nets, signing LeBron doesn’t make much sense. If a sign-and-trade were to happen with the Lakers, it would require a three-year contract and trigger the hard cap. Therefore, ending his career alongside Curry in Golden State would be LeBron’s future direction.”

“The next question is: Can the Warriors convince the Lakers to include Bronny in the trade? So my prediction is: The Warriors sign LeBron using a non-taxpayer mid-level exception starting at $15 million, for a total of 2 years and $30.8 million, with a player option.”

Renowned reporter Brett Siegel reported that, according to league sources, the Warriors are very interested in pursuing James in the upcoming free agency market, and Curry plans to meet with James to try to recruit him to join the Warriors!

The reporter said, “League sources indicate that the Warriors are very willing to pursue LeBron James this offseason. LeBron is at the end of his career, but he can still perform at a high level, as we saw in the playoffs this year.”

“The Warriors’ goal in the coming weeks is to pair him with Curry. This seems highly doubtful and very unlikely. But now things are developing—the same source tells us that Curry plans to meet with LeBron in the coming weeks before free agency opens, to discuss the possibility of him joining the Warriors.”

The reporter stated that since 2020, James has been at the top of Warriors owner Joe Lacob’s wish list. Lacob has always wanted to make a trade with the Lakers to bring James to Golden State. Now, the biggest opportunity has arrived. James has become a completely free agent, making it much more possible for him to join the Warriors.

According to the latest prediction from the analysis platform Kalshi regarding James' next team, the probability of James joining the Warriors is 11%. The chance of him staying with the Lakers or retiring is as high as 66%, while returning to his hometown Cleveland is twice that of the Warriors, at 22%.

In the later stages of his career, James has developed into an elite 3-and-D player. He no longer needs to dominate the ball and can easily handle situations that require his solutions. If ball-handling is needed, he can do it effortlessly, just like in this year's playoffs.

The idea of James teaming up with Curry is certainly appealing. They have achieved major success together on the international stage, winning the men's basketball gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, James' current decision is about his final career stop, which must satisfy two conditions:

1. The team must be a title contender, allowing James to win his fifth championship and end his career perfectly;

2. The fans must share a special bond with James, willing to embrace him and accept his farewell tour. Retiring there would be a legendary story.

For the first condition, many teams qualify. For the second, the Cavaliers are the best fit, followed by the Lakers. Considering both, the Cavaliers are the optimal choice. James joining the Cavaliers would instantly boost their championship potential, making it easier to break out of the East compared to the West.

In the West, teams like the Thunder, Spurs, and Nuggets are tough nuts to crack. If James returns to the Cavaliers, even without winning a championship, it would be a perfect farewell. Ending the dream where it started—what player wouldn’t dream of that?

James has about a month to think it over. Let him take his time.
