Chances of Giannis joining the Heat surge to 53%! Portis might be included in a trade: Warriors interested in acquiring him

According to the latest Kalshi odds updated on June 11 Beijing time, Miami's likelihood of landing Giannis has climbed to 53%, whereas Milwaukee's probability of retaining him has fallen to 18%. Additional reports have disclosed further specifics: should Giannis be dealt to the Heat in a major transaction, the Bucks are expected to include additional players in the trade.

Veteran NBA reporter Tim Reynolds reports that the Bucks plan to include forward Bobby Portis in any Giannis trade. The team is heading into a rebuilding phase and hopes to free up more salary cap space through this move. He stated, "There is a growing consensus within the league that if a Giannis trade happens, Portis will very likely be sent out as well."

Heat insider Barry Jackson also commented, "Miami has had some interest in Portis for years. Imagine a trade where the Heat send out Ware, Herro, Jaquez, and Jovic in exchange for Giannis and Portis from the Bucks. This deal would comply with salary cap rules because Miami's current payroll is well below the luxury tax line and the first apron, allowing them to take in about $12 million more than they send out."

Last summer, Portis signed a three-year contract extension with the Bucks worth $43.56 million, with a player option for the 2027-28 season. To restructure the deal, Portis declined his $13.4 million player option for the 2025-26 season, though his salary for that year remained unchanged.

League sources from ClutchPoints indicate that both the Golden State Warriors and the Charlotte Hornets are interested in acquiring Portis. If the Heat or another team that obtains Giannis decides to waive Portis, he would become a free agent and could choose any destination, at which point both of those teams would pursue him.

It is reported that the Bucks have not yet requested final offers from other teams. They want to first evaluate the performance of the New York Knicks in their ongoing playoff series to gauge what kind of package the Knicks might be willing to offer. Currently, the Knicks lead the series 2-1, with Game 4 scheduled for today.

In the 2025-26 season, Giannis played only 36 games due to injury, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. Portis appeared in 67 games this season, averaging 13.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
