On June 11 Beijing time, the famous sports analyst Stephen A. Smith, dubbed "American Yang Yi," is now engaged in a verbal spat with US President Donald Trump.

Trump updated his social media, writing: "Stephen A. Smith is an arrogant fool with low intelligence. Put simply, he's as dull as a rock, unfit to run for any high political office, not even a low one! Even against the most incompetent politicians, he would be utterly crushed in a debate."

Stephen A. Smith quickly responded. On his show, he replied to Trump's comments. The following is what he said—
"Mr. President, you don't need to worry about me running. But if I did run, you would be the one to worry. I know that I could easily defeat many people in a debate, including you, and I could do it without breaking a sweat."
"I mean no offense, but I'm not like ordinary politicians, nor am I like Joe Biden. I just have a different style—I'm not saying I'm better, just that my approach is different."
"Your classic catchphrase-style rhetoric? I can immediately counter it... It's not a serious policy debate; it's just about presence, charisma, and quick on-the-spot reactions, and I'm ready for that anytime. That said, setting that aside, I respect you personally and I respect the office of the presidency."

"It is precisely out of respect for that office that I offer criticism. Not everyone can have Secret Service protection, temporarily adjust traffic, stop fans from watching the game, and disrupt the normal operations of the largest city in the United States. Only a sitting president can do that. Not a governor, not a mayor, not a vice president, not even the King of England."
"This is America, and right now we are at a sporting event, a basketball stage, the NBA Finals. No sitting president has ever attended the Finals in person, and the reason is simple: everyone knows it would cause tremendous inconvenience for fans, especially in a traffic-choked city like New York. If it were in a spacious venue like San Antonio, I wouldn't say a word."
