Oh wow.
Absolutely mind-blowing.
If the Warriors manage to make this happen, it would shake up the entire NBA...

US media outlet LetsGoWarriors reports that the Warriors are cooking up a major signing plan, aiming to sign both Leonard and James to join Curry for an epic trio.

The Warriors-focused media outlet Warriors Nation has proposed a plan, as follows:
1. Use the full $15 million mid-level exception to sign LeBron James as a free agent;
2. Trade away Butler + Podziemski + 2 first-round picks to acquire Leonard from the Clippers.

Kawhi Leonard is 34 years old. This season, he played 65 regular-season games, averaging 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.9 steals, with shooting splits of 50.5%, 38.7%, and 89.2%.
LeBron James is 41 years old. He played 60 regular-season games, averaging 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals, with shooting splits of 51.5%, 31.7%, and 73.7%.
Stephen Curry is 38 years old. He played 43 regular-season games, averaging 26.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.1 steals, with shooting splits of 46.8%, 39.3%, and 92.3%.
To put it bluntly, as long as this version of the big three stays healthy, they would absolutely have a chance to lead the Warriors to a championship and reshape the entire league's title race.

This season, due to injuries and other factors, the Warriors finished the regular season at 37-45, ranking 10th in the Western Conference. They defeated the Clippers in Play-In Game 1, but were eliminated by the Suns in Play-In Game 2, thus missing the playoffs this year.

However, dreams are just dreams. Actually executing it is not that simple.
For example, how can the Warriors convince the Clippers to take on Butler (who has a contract year next season worth $56.83 million and may miss the entire 2026-27 season due to a torn right ACL), and convince LeBron James, who is still playing at an All-Star level, to willingly accept just $10 million annually and bring his talents to the Bay Area?

The last time King James earned a $10 million annual salary was back in the 2013-14 season with the Heat, when he made $19.07 million that year. That was 12 years ago. Now, although he is older, his status and influence remain top-tier.

It must be said that when it comes to building a "sunset" team, the Warriors really seem to have a peculiar obsession. *Manually dog head.*
