On June 13, Beijing time, it was previously reported that Boston is willing to consider trading Jaylen Brown, with multiple teams showing interest. According to NBA insider Stein, the Trail Blazers, Rockets, and Hawks are all keen on Brown. He further pointed out that the large salary commitments complicate any potential trade talks.

As early as two weeks ago, Stein had hinted at similar information, with Brown's trade prospects largely tied to the uncertain future of Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. There are rumors that Giannis would like to join the Boston Celtics.
Stein previously stated that to facilitate a blockbuster deal between the Bucks and Celtics—bringing Giannis to Boston—it would likely require at least a third team. Jaylen Brown would be sent to that third team, with the Hawks, Rockets, and Trail Blazers as potential destinations, while the Bucks would receive various assets in return.

Now 29 years old, Brown just completed the best regular season of his career. He played 71 games, averaging 34.4 minutes per contest while posting 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.0 steals. It was his fourth consecutive All-Star selection and fifth overall; he finished sixth in MVP voting, a career high, and earned his second All-NBA Second Team honor.

Brown signed a supermax extension with the Celtics in 2023, with three years and $183 million remaining on his contract. A native of Georgia, he was also the Finals MVP when Boston captured its 18th NBA championship in 2024.
