On July 29 Beijing time, renowned reporter Shams reported that Green has confirmed his return to the Golden State Warriors on a one-year, $27.7 million contract. Sources told ESPN that Green's new one-year contract does not include a no-trade clause.

Just before the start of free agency this summer, Green made a surprising choice by declining to exercise his $27.6 million player option. This decision freed up salary cap space for the Warriors, who were at that time among the contenders pursuing LeBron James. However, after James ultimately decided to join a Philadelphia team, Green and the Warriors promptly moved forward to finalize this new contract.

Green has now played for the Warriors for 14 consecutive seasons, which is the second-longest tenure with a single team among active NBA players, trailing only his teammate Stephen Curry. Curry will begin his 18th season with the Warriors in October.

As early as February of this year, Green's tenure with the Warriors was once in jeopardy. League sources said that when the Warriors were discussing a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo, Green was put on the negotiating table, which indeed made Green uneasy.
