Choosing the 76ers over the Heat! Adebayo sends a text to LeBron James: "I will beat you to a pulp"

On July 29th Beijing time, James chose to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers instead of the Miami Heat. Adebayo has no hard feelings, but he vowed to express his attitude during games. The center sent a message to LeBron: "I will beat you to a pulp."

According to the Miami Herald, Adebayo discussed the text he sent to James today, saying: "I told him in the message, 'I will beat you to a pulp.' The new season is full of excitement, and I'm really looking forward to the competition in the East. The landscape in the Eastern Conference is undergoing a major reshuffle, and this year will definitely be thrilling."

James's potential destinations included the Heat, Cavaliers, and Warriors, among others, but he ultimately chose to go to the Philadelphia 76ers.

If James had landed with the Heat or the Cavaliers, it would have been a full-circle moment for the future Hall of Famer, as he had previously led both teams to championships. A move to the Warriors would have given him the chance to play alongside Stephen Curry, another superstar who has defined an era in the NBA.

However, the 76ers' championship prospects may be better than those of other contenders. The team already has a core lineup consisting of Maxey, Embiid, Jaylen Brown, and Echikum, which could help James contend for his fifth NBA title.

"I'm not disappointed at all," Adebayo said. "In my opinion, you should always wish others well in their choices. He chose the place he believes gives him the best chance to win, and I consider myself a good friend of LeBron."

The Heat also made a major move this offseason by signing another future Hall of Famer, Giannis Antetokounmpo. The frontcourt duo of Giannis and Adebayo ranks among the best in the league and is a reflection of the overall upgrade in the Eastern Conference's strength.

James and Brown head to Philadelphia, while Giannis joins the Heat; Haliburton will return to the Pacers after recovering from his Achilles injury; the Raptors may land Kawhi Leonard (pending league investigation); the Knicks are the defending champions; and even the Wizards will feature Anthony Davis, Trae Young, and the No. 1 pick, Zaccharie Risacher, playing together.

The Cavaliers, Pistons, and Celtics also remain contenders, which means that throughout the season, every team will be fiercely competing for valuable playoff spots.

As a result, head-to-head matchups between strong teams like the 76ers and Heat will carry extra weight. Adebayo has already prepared to elevate his performance to the highest level when facing the 76ers led by James.
