The 80-to-0 ratio is heartbreaking! The Warriors are the only team that hasn't brought in any new players, and U.S. media suggests Curry should request a trade.

On July 29 Beijing time, U.S. outlet BrickCenter shared a painful image for Warriors fans. As of now, the Warriors have not signed any new players (excluding draft picks), while the rest of the NBA teams have added a total of 80 new players. The caption read: "Stephen Curry should request a trade."

NBC Bay Area recently released a more detailed chart of acquisitions (see below), which clearly shows how out of place the Warriors' quiet offseason is. The chart lists all 30 teams and counts every free-agent signing and trade completed by each team in preparation for the 2026-27 season.

Teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers have been active in the offseason, but the Golden State Warriors' moves can only be described as bleak. In what is being called one of the busiest offseasons in history, the Warriors are the only team without any new arrivals.

Currently, Warriors fans and the team itself are in a complicated state of mind. The team's pursuit of four-time MVP James failed, and James ultimately chose to go to Philadelphia. James is just the latest superstar to reject the Warriors; previously, they chased after Giannis, Brown, and others, all to no avail. The Warriors have repeatedly tried to bring in star partners for Curry to capitalize on his remaining championship window, but have repeatedly failed.

Of course, the offseason acquisition window is not yet closed, and the team still has opportunities to make moves. But six weeks into the offseason, these two charts are highly symbolic, reflecting the Warriors' poor situation in bringing in new players.

With Draymond Green re-signing with the Warriors on a one-year contract, the contracts of core players Curry, Butler, and Green will all expire next summer, making all three unrestricted free agents.

Curry will become eligible for a contract extension in August, and he can sign a two-year, $136.7 million max extension, worth $65.7 million and $71 million respectively.
